I’m Getting Married!
Very few of you know that for the past several weeks I’ve been dating somebody quite seriously. When I’m in a serious relationship I don’t usually like to spread the word, and this one wasn’t much different. Things have been going very well, and early last week I felt the time was right to ask her to marry me. Whoa!
It all happened quite fast, but when it feels right, you “go and do.” And so I went and did! I met up with her after the Priesthood Session of General Conference last night. We went for a walk, and the ring I had purchased was burning a hole in my pocket… I found a secluded place I had previously chosen, and as we continued to talk I was trying not to shake from all the nervousness!
After all the corny talk of how much I loved her and how lucky I was to have found her, I got down on one knee. By this time I was sobbing uncontrollably, and lost any hope of stopping my hands from shaking. I looked up at her, smiled, and said:
“April Fools!”

That was the best one today!
Tell me that either:
(a) You didn’t really do that to her
-or-
(b) None of it actually happened, the jokes on us, and she’s in on it.
Please.
Or maybe how ’bout this one
(c) The April Fools is actually the April Fool and you two *are* engaged.
(b – slightly modified) None of it actually happened, the joke’s on you, and nobody but me was in on it. 🙂
Good one Connor, thanks for a good April fools joke. All the fake articles on Slashdot are dumb, this one was worthy of April Fool’s Day!
I’m going to slap you Connor! Right after I slap my kids. I am such a sucker for these dumb jokes!
Now, go out and look for the girl you SHOULD have been proposing to!
DeeDee
I am glad I scrolled down and saw the “April Fools!” I would have been your next sucker.
What the heck Connor? I was about to congratulate you. Do I do so yet? Did you make the whole thing up, or did you really give an april fool joke?
I made the mistake, very tragically of putting out a false wedding announcement some years back for April Fools day. I would not advise such, at least in the way I did it. It did not go over well with family, but that is a long story that probably should not be shared on-line in case it the account of the event would be discovered by some of the parties involved, which might prove hurtful.
Oh the web we weave, or at least the one I did on that April the 1st.
Shaun,
See comment #3. 🙂
